Veteran male pageant titlist wears the Philippine Sash to the Mr. Gay World 2012
Crowned as Mr. Gay World Philippines 2012, the 27 year old renowned coffee shop barista, Carlito Rosadiño, Jr., will represent the country to the Mr. Gay World 2012 competition, in the rainbow nation, South Africa this coming April.
He won at the local search - Mr. Gay World Philippines produced by Winstruck Events, held last November 18, 2011 at BED Manila.
Carlito, who grew up in Tondo, is a passionate dancer who studied Art Studies at the University of the Philippines, Diliman Quezon City.
He is now busy in the preparation of the competition, not only in his physical training, but also mainly in his knowledge of the gay community globally as being Mr. Gay World would entail him to be an ambassador and role model for the said community.
Accompanying Carlito to South Africa is the Director for Asia of the Mr. Gay World, Noemi Alberto and President of Winstruck Events Mac Bordallo. The competition, which will commence on the 4th of April, will be attended by 25 delegates from all over the world. The delegates will enjoy a luxurious stay at the five diamond Fairway Hotel & Spa while in Johannesburg. A week-long 'judged' activity will test the delegates' composure, camaraderie, leadership skill and intelligence given the different tasks and challenges. Their stay would be highlighted by a visit at the Askari Lodge where they will have the 'Safari Experience.' The Finale night proper will be on the night of April 8 at the Lyric Theatre in Johannesburg. - where they will also be judged in National Costume, Swimwear, Formal Wear and the Final Q&A
Carlito is actively involved with Ladlad Partylist and the Love Yourself Project.
Ladlad Partylist is one of the organizations who has been helping him to gain more knowledge about the gay community in our country.
While the Love Yourself Project consists of a group of volunteer educators and counselors, including him, who aims to propagate ideas and practices that encourages one's self to DARE to be oneself, to CARE for oneself, and to SHARE oneself as a way to multiplying joy.
While many considers Carlito as one of the strongest competitors this year, a huge pressure is toiled upon him as almost all the Philippines delegates who competed in the International competition have been winners in their own way.

Winstruck Events Production & Marketing is the producer of the annual MR. GAY WORLD PHILIPPINES (2007-2012), a pageant that aims to send the most deserving Philippine Representative to the annual Worldwide Competition - Mr. Gay World. The competition is designed to challenge the preconceived notions of gay men held by the society. It also holds Mr. Gay World's mission which is to raise the visibility of gay men, humanize gays in the media, create a positive role model and confront homophobia in today's culture.
We have sent candidates to Oslo, Norway in 2010, Whistler Canada in 2009 and Hollywood, USA in 2008.
The Philippines proudly hosted the Mr. Gay World event last March 9-14, 2011 held at Club Mwah!
The first Mr. Gay World Philippines was held on March 2007 at Metro Bar in Quezon City where Ray Allen "Earth" Cachero was hailed as the very 1st Mr. Gay World Philippines. It was produced by Noemi Alberto, the only female member of the Board of Directors of the Mr. Gay World Organization. She was also appointed as Director for Asia and MGW Youth Program.
Other members include pilot, businessman and philanthropist, Eric Butter, President of MGW and Chairman of the Board; Dean Nelson, Director of North America; Tore Aasheim, Managing Director, Noemi Alberto - Director for Asia; Coenie Kukkuk, Director for Africa and Alfredo Ferreyra, Director for South America.
Just last year (March), the Philippines hosted the 3rd Mr. Gay World where our representative, Marc Ernest Biala was able to be part of the Top 10 delegates. He also bagged the Best in National Costume and Mr. Popularity award.
In February 2010, David Bosley, MGWP2010, placed in the Top 10 at the annual Mr. Gay World Competition held in Oslo, Norway together with 2 Asian representatives - Hong Kong and China who ranked 2nd and 3rd Runners-up respectively. While Mr. Gay World Philippines 2009 Wilbert Tolentino, competed last February 2009 at the Mr. Gay World 2009 in Whistler, Canada, home of the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. He bagged the special awards for National Costume, Formal Wear and Mr. Popularity. He was also part of the Search & Rescue Operations team who won in the series of events conducted during the 4-day competition. MGWP 2008 First runner-up, Mark Arthur Dimaguila, represented the Philippines at the Mr. Gay International in Hollywood, USA on January 2008.
The Philippines continues to be the pioneer Asian country that participates in the World competition yearly and helps other Asian countries to be able to bring a delegate in the World competition like Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Vietnam and India and thus be able to share the culture of gay life in Asia to the whole world.
Marc Ernest Biala is All-Set to Compete at the 2011 Mr. Gay World in Manila
Manila, Philippines – The 5’8” tall, registered nurse, Marc Ernest Biala is all set for the big day of his life as he competes with other gay men representatives in the 2011 Mr. Gay World on March 13 at Club Mwah, (one of the most outstanding theater-clubs in Asia) in the Tiger City of Mandaluyong. The momentous event will be hosted by Philippine King of Talk Boy Abunda along with one of the country’s top models Wilma Doesnt and 2005 Miss International Precious Lara Quigaman.
Biala is one gay man, who is an inspiring individual to young gay men and is determined to make a 'difference' and be an effective spokesperson for other Filipino gay men in the country. He is a magna cum laude graduate from St. Mary’s College in Tagum City, Davao del Norte. He is currently finishing his Masters of Science in Nursing and is writing his thesis focusing on family caregivers for the mentally-ill patients and is a candidate for another magna cum laude award . He also authored a nursing reference book titled ‘Psychiatric Nursing’ which is already distributed nationwide. Given all the credentials Biala has under his belt, MGWP is confident that he is the ideal country’s bet to represent in this prestigious tilt, which will commence on March 9th and will end on the 14th of the said month.
Delegates from different countries will start arriving on the 7th and 8th. A press conference will be held on the 9th and candidates presentation will be on March 10 at Bed Manila in Malate. Along with that, delegates will be busy with other bar tours and an outreach program with Gawad Kalinga.
Macoy, to most of his friends, hopes to contribute in boosting the country’s tourism industry as he serves as the Philippines’ ambassador of goodwill for the duration of his reign and in the competition’s five-day long activity.
